Sander Bikkers, President at SAAM Towage Canada, reflects on the implementation of the Tripanko Project in Canada, which has 23 tugs distributed throughout seven ports.

He says project implementation “will provide transparent information through coherent, standardized processes that will greatly reduce or eliminate paper forms. By providing access to more information, it will allow more timely and precise decision making.”

Sander Bikkers went on to say that the project will enable the company to “continually exceed our clients’ service expectations.”

The Tripanko execution process is currently underway with all the tugs in Vancouver and New Westminster. It will soon be rolled out in Prince Rupert and other ports.

As short-term objectives, the executive listed: including unavailable replacement parts in NSE, continuing internal training sessions and ensuring the availability of all maintenance work for all vessels.

He remarked that the team received project implementation well and that the experience “has been very positive. They like having an all-in-one system that they can see will be beneficial in the future. We promised them we would continue collaborating with other operations to improve the system.”
