Panama has operated with Helm Connect since 2017. However, the software needed to be migrated to a new server with better features to meet the corporate standard for the Tripanko project.

As a result, Helm was successfully reinstalled on all devices, both on-board tugs and in the Panama office, in early December.

This process involved three primary areas. First, the Helm team remotely migrated and reinstalled the software. Second, the corporate IT area provided support from Chile. Lastly, in situ support was provided by the office in Panama.

This process helped raise system performance and improve the user experience for our employees in Panama.

Although reinstallation was a big success, it did not end there. Some system configuration adjustments are now being made based on corporate guidelines for the Tripanko project. This will slightly modify how Panama uses Helm, but it will better align the office with the new corporate approach.

Antennas were also installed on the Yaqui and Aruba tugs in Panama, a process that was postponed due to meteorological incidents.

These antennas are designed to improve the tugs’ data signal to ensure a better experience and availability of mobile applications and Helm.

The quality of the data signal received is now being assessed before purchasing additional units.
