Helm supports dispatch and invoicing processes. Like NS, this software is globally recognized in the maritime industry and will help us more efficiently manage our entire fleet.

Since implementation of Tripanko, which includes Helm, is just around the corner, we would like to tell you a bit about the project’s progress to date:

We have worked with local key users and the corporate team to review Helm processes. Key users also participated in an introductory training program. In addition, we have documented processes and reviewed connections with the BI (Qlik Sense) tool.

In early November we held the Helm kick-off in Panama.

At a corporate level, we reviewed processes related to Finance, Commercial and Operations areas.

We also assessed integrations with ERPs, and kicked-off the project with the corporate IT team.

As with NS, we decided to use SAP PI as the corporate middleware in charge of interfaces between these systems (Helm and NS) and the ERPs.

As part of the training process, the Corporate Academy–hosted on the Moodle platform–will contain a complete repository of all courses, tutorials and booklets on Helm and NS.

Finally, in order to guarantee optimum use of both software programs on board tugs, we have set an IT standard of equipping each tug with a portable computer and an industrial tablet.
