In April, the Tripanko Helm team visited Ecuador and Panama to learn first-hand how the implementation of this tool was proceeding in each country.

Panama was the first country of the fleet to adopt the current version of Helm Connect, in 2017, even before the Tripanko project began. Liliana Ojeda, Project Manager at SAAM Towage, applauded the team for “its solidarity in sharing its knowledge and collaborating on the roll-out in other countries. They have shared what they have learned about Helm and have always been willing to innovate and continue improving.  They have made a great contribution to the project.”

Regarding the Helm team in Ecuador, Liliana highlighted its commitment and determination to resolve each challenge in order to ensure the success of the project, which went live in April of this year.  “Incorporating other operations, Ecuador for example, has challenged us to adapt the system to their particular realities.

In conclusion, Liliana recognized that, “while there are gaps we still need to bridge in the short term, we firmly believe that there is always room for new and better initiatives.”
