Training on the NSE platform continues at SAAM Towage El Salvador, where they have completed several stages and are moving forward with the process.

The operations in El Salvador are responsible for operating a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). This unit is anchored off the coast of El Salvador and will supply natural gas to a power plant currently under construction.

Adolfo Velasco, SAAM Towage’s Country Office Head for El Salvador, affirms that there has been much excitement from the crews “because they are playing an important role in El Salvador’s history. This is an unprecedented project with the largest private investment ever and will supply 30% of the country’s electricity demand.”

One participant, Tug Engineer Aixa Marcie, comments that “this new platform will enable us to check compliance with the most stringent standards for machine personnel training and resolve problems as quickly as possible,” and adds that “this experience is a great start for the personal and professional development of the SAAM Towage El Salvador team.”
