The drydock module on the NSE (Nautical Systems Enterprise) platform makes it possible to manage one of the most critical activities in the tug life cycle: major maintenance management (drydocking).

SAAM Towage Panama used the module for the first time a couple of days ago, and we wanted to know more about the process. Jaime Reyes, Planning Engineer, told us that they are currently doing test runs with drydocking in Panama, and they have been able to record the jobs, planning and execution. “It has not been easy, but by next year we will be working on recording contracting and consolidated costs.”

“This new system will undoubtedly be of great help. We will be able to control planning, contracting, execution and costs, which are the main elements of drydocking and, when properly managed, ensure successful maintenance.

Furthermore, it will enable centralized, historical document control for each major maintenance operation. We will be able to record cost and planning deviations, which is crucial to our continuous improvement processes,” he explained.
