At SAAM Towage Mexico, the fleet totals 23 tugs operated by 100 crew members and supported by approximately 40 people who perform administrative services. The team is nearing the completion of the NSE implementation process.

Carolina Brailow is one of the executives leading the process in Mexico. Today they are filling out the information for the system database and working on training all personnel. “We are at 60% progress for training,” she noted, adding that it has been very well received.

“In Mexico, we were already using the system, but this has been an opportunity to master it much more, get questions answered and understand the changes to come,” she added.  Ms. Brailow believes that the success of a project depends on collaboration from the entire organization, which has been the case for this project.

She remarked that the main challenge has been “assimilating the major changes observed with the Nautical Systems update, primarily in terms of language: learning to work with the new standardized processes and the financial and accounting implications of the new catalog of accounts and inventory control from a single system (NSE).”
